It all started on January 29th, 2016. I was sent to Sorensons Ranch School (SRS). My first 3 weeks into the school I had no contact with my parents besides letters. Which in all I didn't mind. Until I found out they went through our lefts and read them. Very understandable in some cases. But then there were others. Where if I were to tell my parents that Justin the Staff raped three girls they wouldn't send it. And make me change it. A very real situation. Girls who are level 3 or higher get to go on camp outs. Justin a guy staff got to come. We knew things were up when they came back 2 days early. We then had segregated meals which means we don't eat with the girls (they do that whenever they feel like it). But tomorrow was Monday. A school day and they couldn't segregate the meal that day because we would be late. So the three girls told the guys what happened and they lost it. We then in the next week were told by the owner Jill Sorenson that if we talk about what happened with Justin it is a level one offense and lower field. Level one takes 1 week to work off. But in that one week your son or daughter will walk from 3-5 then have dinner. Then from 6-9 you would sit in a little white room with just a book and no talking. You could see how this might be chaotic and useless. Your son or daughter will also usually hike 10 miles in Saturday, then 10 miles on Sunday. The thing that traumatized me the most was the animal abuse. I had work detail on Saturday for not doing my 2 of chores during the week. And i went into the bunny cage to feed them. And someone gauged the bunnies eyeballs out and left it in its cage for death. People would bury birds alive. But you couldn't do anything. Cause the kids would beat you relentlessly. I was there from Jan 29th 2016- Dec 8th 2016 I saw my parents once the whole entire time. People have been there for 3+ years. One kid was there for 7! His little brother and sister there too! If you have any questions about my stay fully there and more in depth. Please email me.

My experience in the late 90s was not horrible or great....I do have wonderful memories of things but yet know for a fact I would never send my child away and not know what exactly is going on...your one star reviews are true...the fence sucked, isolation sucked, the hike I liked that.....and loved camp out...I learned lot about farm animals and image if I was not sent there I would never of seen Utah in real life...I did have a smart ass mouth so to say I didn't deserve some of the punishment are not true but being I don't hit my kids like that you all probably shouldn't either,I left after a boy hung himself,I don't know whatever happened after that went home and was still the same jerk...then I grew up for real so if this place did anything was saved me a few years a ass beating from my dad thanks

Spent a year there back in 07. It wasn't bad, lots of the kids deserved to be there, I know I did ;-) it was a good program and the staff there were pretty cool. Would like to re visit some day

I am heartbroken this place is still open. I was kidnapped and taken here at the age of 15 to this day it is one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. It took me all the way thru my twenties to forgive my parents for sending me there. No child should ever feel the pain of abandonment of being unwanted and completely misunderstood. Thank God I was smart enough to play the game and jump thru the hoops to get released. I never lived with my parents on a full time basis again. My mother has begged forgiveness many times since. I understand the feelings a difficult rebellious teenager presents but if you have any love left for your child. PLEASE DONT SEND THEM HERE.

I went there when I was 13 and spent 8 months there. This place did wonders for me and my anxiety and depression. It's not the best at first but in the end it's really good. Once you learn how it works and the rules it's a grate learning experience. The staff can be a bit mean but once you get to know them there grate friends better then some kids. I look back now and am glad I went. 4 years later and now I'm having my own little one. I can say that if my child is having trouble I would suggest sending them here.
